Les ann\u00e9es 1960 et 1970 marquent le d\u00e9but d’une nouvelle g\u00e9n\u00e9ration de navires dans l’Ouest de la Manche. En 1964, Condor Ltd<\/a><\/strong> se fait remarquer avec la mise en service de ses hydropt\u00e8res entre Saint-Malo et les \u00eeles Anglo-normandes. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leur vitesse en pointe sup\u00e9rieure \u00e0 30 n\u0153uds, ces navires divisent par deux le temps de travers\u00e9e. Cinq ans apr\u00e8s, la flotte s’agrandira avec la mise en service d’un second navire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Le premier service de car-ferries breton est cr\u00e9e en janvier 1973, lorsque le M\/V Kerisnel<\/a><\/strong> de Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong> appareille du port de Roscoff. Si l’initiative port\u00e9e par des agriculteurs bretons est consid\u00e9r\u00e9e avec d\u00e9dain par les armateurs de l’Est de la Manche, celle-ci devient rapidement un succ\u00e8s commercial. D\u00e8s 1974, Brittany Ferries<\/strong> introduit son premier navire mixte, le M\/V Penn-ar-Bed<\/a><\/strong>. Trois ans apr\u00e8s sa cr\u00e9ation, la compagnie s’\u00e9tend au port de Saint-Malo, pour laquelle elle acquiert le M\/V Armorique<\/a><\/strong>. Les ann\u00e9es 1970 se concluent avec la cr\u00e9ation de deux lignes \u00e0 travers l’oc\u00e9an Atlantique, vers l’Irlande et l’Espagne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les premiers hydropt\u00e8res de Condor Ferries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Les ann\u00e9es 1960 et 1970 sont celles des premiers ferries sur la Manche-Ouest. En mai 1964, Condor<\/a><\/strong> introduit son premier hydropt\u00e8re \u00e0 grande-vitesse entre Saint-Malo et les \u00eeles Anglo-normandes : Condor 1<\/a><\/strong>. La flotte s’agrandit d’un second navire en 1969 avec l’affr\u00e8tement, pour deux saisons, du Condor 2<\/a><\/strong>. Il est remplac\u00e9 par la livraison du Condor 3<\/a><\/strong> dans le courant de l’ann\u00e9e 1970. En 1973, Condor<\/strong> accueille un troisi\u00e8me navire, le Condor 4<\/a><\/strong>. Les ann\u00e9es soixante-dix se terminent avec le remplacement du Condor 1<\/strong> par le Condor 5<\/a><\/strong>, en 1976.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
