Cependant, les coques sont achet\u00e9es durant la construction par <strong>Rederi Ab Gotland<\/strong>, qui pr\u00e9voit de les engager sur la desserte de l&rsquo;\u00eele de Gotland. Le second des deux navires est lanc\u00e9 le 12 f\u00e9vrier 1973, puis livr\u00e9 le 26 novembre 1973 \u00e0 <strong>Rederi Ab Gotland<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Baptis\u00e9 <strong>Gotland<\/strong>, ce second navire d\u00e9bute son service commercial le 1er f\u00e9vrier 1974. Le 9 mars 1974, \u00e0 22h50, <strong>Gotland<\/strong> est victime d&rsquo;un d\u00e9part de feu en salle des machine. L&rsquo;\u00e9quipage parvient \u00e0 \u00e9teindre le feu gr\u00e2ce au l\u00e2cher de dioxyde de carbone et le navire parvient \u00e0 gagner Trelleborg, sa destination, par ses propres moyens.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De mars \u00e0 mai 1974, <strong>Gotland<\/strong> est affr\u00e9t\u00e9 par <strong>TT-Line<\/strong> pour service sur la ligne Trelleborg (Su\u00e8de) &#8211; Travem\u00fcnde (Allemagne). En 1985, il dessert \u00e9galement Stochholm en avant et apr\u00e8s saison.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 13 janvier 1987, <strong>Gotland<\/strong> est affr\u00e9t\u00e9 par le gouvernement de l&rsquo;\u00eele pour convoyer des manifestants jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 Stockholm. Apr\u00e8s cette manifestation, le navire reprend son service habituel pour une derni\u00e8re saison. Durant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 1987, son service est \u00e9tendu \u00e0 V\u00e4stervik (Su\u00e8de). <strong>Gotland<\/strong> appareille pour la derni\u00e8re fois de Visby le 9 janvier 1988.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s la fin de son service vers l&rsquo;\u00eele de Gotland, <strong>Gotland<\/strong> est affr\u00e9t\u00e9 par plusieurs compagnies pour remplacer leurs navires durant leurs car\u00e9nages. Il navigue ainsi successivement pour <strong>Mols Linien<\/strong>, <strong>Gren\u00e5 &#8211; Hundested Linien<\/strong> et <strong>Belfast Car Ferries<\/strong> durant l&rsquo;hiver 1987-1988. En mars 1988, <strong>Gotland<\/strong> atteint le port de Southampton pour un car\u00e9nage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gotland en renfort sur la ligne de Caen de Brittany Ferries<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Depuis son lancement, en janvier 1986, la ligne Caen (Ouistreham) &#8211; Portsmouth est un succ\u00e8s de fr\u00e9quentation. Le service offert par <strong>Duc de Normandie<\/strong> est compl\u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e8s ses origines par l&rsquo;affectation du roulier <strong>Purbeck<\/strong>. \u00c0 la fin de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1987, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong> annonce donc le lancement d&rsquo;une nouvelle grille horaire pour l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 suivant, mobilisant deux ferries mixtes et un navire roulier. Cependant, <strong>Brittany Ferries<\/strong> renonce \u00e0 ce projet, le renommage d&rsquo;un navire \u00e9tant jug\u00e9 trop on\u00e9reux pour un affr\u00e8tement de quelques mois. <strong>Gotland<\/strong> conserve donc son nom, rev\u00eatant simplement le logo de <strong>Brittany Ferries<\/strong>. Toujours immatricul\u00e9 \u00e0 Visby, le navire est conduit par un \u00e9quipage britannique et irlandais, mais le personnel h\u00f4telier est fourni par <strong>Brittany Ferries<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>La mise en service de <strong>Gotland<\/strong> sur la ligne Caen (Ouistreham) &#8211; Portsmouth est pr\u00e9vue le 19 mai 1988. Cette nouvelle grille horaire est un succ\u00e8s pour l&rsquo;armement breton, qui la p\u00e9rennise l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e suivante avec le transfert de l&rsquo;ex-<strong>Prince of Brittany<\/strong>, renomm\u00e9 <strong>Reine Mathilde<\/strong> pour l&rsquo;occasion. <strong>Gotland<\/strong> est par la suite sous-affr\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 la <strong>SNCF<\/strong> pour service entre Dieppe et Newhaven, puis renforce les flottes d&rsquo;<strong>Irish Continental Lines<\/strong> et de <strong>Belfast Car Ferries<\/strong> jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la fin 1988.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une nouvelle carri\u00e8re corse<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Apr\u00e8s une vente avort\u00e9e pour service entre la Norv\u00e8ge et le Danemark, Gotland est vendu \u00e0 <strong>Tourship SA<\/strong> (<strong>Corsica Ferries<\/strong>) en janvier 1989. Le ferry est renomm\u00e9 <strong>Corsica Victoria<\/strong> et r\u00e9immatricul\u00e9 au Panama. Il est engag\u00e9 sur la ligne Livourne (Italie) &#8211; Bastia (Corse, France) \u00e0 compter du printemps 1989.
