Apr\u00e8s le rachat de <strong>Truckline<\/strong> par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong>, en 1986, <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> sera allong\u00e9 de 25 m\u00e8tres. Cependant, Purbeck deviendra rapidement redondant, apr\u00e8s l&rsquo;introduction de <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/19\/m-v-cornouailles-1977-1989-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Cornouailles (1977-1989) \u2013 Brittany Ferries\">Cornouailles<\/a><\/strong> sur la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole durant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 1986. D&rsquo;abord utilis\u00e9 sur la ligne Caen (Ouistreham) &#8211; Portsmouth, il est par la suite affr\u00e9t\u00e9 par de multiples compagnies, pour des p\u00e9riodes inf\u00e9rieure d&rsquo;au plus deux ans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Achet\u00e9 en 2006 par <strong>Conferrys<\/strong>, <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> terminera sa carri\u00e8re au Venezuela. Le service est inaugur\u00e9 en 1973 par le <strong>Poole Antelope<\/strong>, suivi quelques mois apr\u00e8s par le <strong>Dauphin de Cherbourg<\/strong>. Ces deux navires disposent d&rsquo;une capacit\u00e9 de 192 m\u00e8tres lin\u00e9aires. Cependant, au bout de quelques mois d&rsquo;exploitation, les deux navires se r\u00e9v\u00e8lent bien trop petits pour la fr\u00e9quentation de la ligne.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">D\u00e9but 1975, les deux navires pionniers sont donc remplac\u00e9s par l&rsquo;affr\u00e8tement de <strong>Cotentin<\/strong> et de <strong>Dorset<\/strong>. Ces deux navires disposant d&rsquo;une capacit\u00e9 de 410 m\u00e8tres lin\u00e9aires et d&rsquo;am\u00e9nagements pour le transport des conducteurs de poids-lourds. Pendant ce temps, <strong>Truckline<\/strong> n\u00e9gocie de nouveaux financements qui permettent de commander deux navires plus capacitaires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Coutances et Purbeck au service de Cherbourg-Poole<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">La coque de <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> est lanc\u00e9e aux chantiers du Havre le 13 janvier 1978. Trois mois apr\u00e8s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/20\/m-v-coutances-1978-2007-truckline-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Coutances (1978-2007) \u2013 Truckline &amp; Brittany Ferries\">son sister-ship<\/a>, <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> est livr\u00e9 le 23 juin 1978 \u00e0 <strong>Truckline<\/strong> qui l\u2019engage imm\u00e9diatement sur la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole. En janvier 1986, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong> acquiert <strong>Truckline<\/strong> pour \u00e9tendre ses op\u00e9rations vers la Normandie. En parall\u00e8le, <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> et <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/20\/m-v-coutances-1978-2007-truckline-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Coutances (1978-2007) \u2013 Truckline &amp; Brittany Ferries\">Coutances<\/a><\/strong> sont envoy\u00e9s \u00e0 tour de r\u00f4le aux chantiers de la Rochelle pour \u00eatre allong\u00e9s de 25 m\u00e8tres, portant leur capacit\u00e9 \u00e0 800 m\u00e8tres lin\u00e9aires de fret.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 1986, <strong>Brittany Ferries<\/strong> introduit <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/19\/m-v-cornouailles-1977-1989-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Cornouailles (1977-1989) \u2013 Brittany Ferries\">Cornouailles<\/a><\/strong> sur la ligne afin d&rsquo;y proposer un service ouvert aux passagers. Cependant, l\u2019op\u00e9ration de trois navires \u00e0 plein temps sur la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole n\u2019est pas encore n\u00e9cessaire. Il retrouve la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole en 1988, o\u00f9 les tarifs attractifs pratiqu\u00e9s par <strong>Truckline<\/strong> permettent \u00e0 la compagnie de prendre l&rsquo;ascendant sur les op\u00e9rations rivales de <strong>Townsend-Thoresen<\/strong> (vers Portsmouth) et <strong>Sealink<\/strong> (vers Weymouth). Le service de fret de la ligne de Caen est alors op\u00e9r\u00e9 gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 l\u2019affr\u00e8tement de <strong>Gabriele Wehr<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Pour l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 1989, les horaires de <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> sont assur\u00e9s par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/26\/m-v-tregastel-1985-1991-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Tr\u00e9gastel (1985-1991) | Brittany Ferries\">Tr\u00e9gastel<\/a><\/strong>, nouvellement transf\u00e9r\u00e9 sur la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole. L\u2019introduction de deux ferries mixtes sur la ligne est un succ\u00e8s commercial, qui justifie le retour de <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> sur la ligne Cherbourg &#8211; Poole pour l\u2019\u00e9t\u00e9 1990. 16 travers\u00e9es sont propos\u00e9es chaque jour sur la ligne cet \u00e9t\u00e9-l\u00e0. march\u00e9 de l&rsquo;affr\u00e8tement<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rendu redondant par l&rsquo;arriv\u00e9e de quatre jumbo-navires en cinq ans, <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> est mis \u00e0 disposition du march\u00e9 de l&rsquo;affr\u00e8tement \u00e0 compter de la fin de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1992. <strong>British Channel Island Ferries<\/strong> (<strong>BCIF<\/strong>) Le ferry appareille de Portsmouth le 16 avril 2003 en direction de Wellington, via le canal de Panama. <strong>Purbeck<\/strong> atteint le port de Wellington le 10 mai 2005.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Purbeck<\/strong> op\u00e8re sa premi\u00e8re travers\u00e9e entre Wellington et Picton  le 25 mai 2003. Il op\u00e8re ce service jusqu&rsquo;en octobre 2005. En mars 2006, <strong>Toll NZ<\/strong> acquiert le ferry, qui reste n\u00e9anmoins d\u00e9sarm\u00e9 dans le port de Wellington. En juin 2008, <strong>Maria Rosario<\/strong> est rejoint sur sa ligne par <strong>Rosa Eugenia<\/strong>, qui n&rsquo;est autre que l&rsquo;ancien <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/20\/m-v-coutances-1978-2007-truckline-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Coutances (1978-2007) \u2013 Truckline &amp; Brittany Ferries\">Coutances<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Maria Rosaria<\/strong> est d\u00e9sarm\u00e9 en 2018 dans le port de Puerto La Cruz. Tout comme son sister-ship trois mois avant, l&rsquo;ex-<strong>Purbeck<\/strong> coule par l&rsquo;arri\u00e8re le 31 d\u00e9cembre 2018.
