Construit en 1980 aux chantiers norv\u00e9giens <em>Westamarin<\/em>, il est le premier navire de <strong>Condor<\/strong> \u00e0 adopter l&rsquo;architecture de catamaran. Cette derni\u00e8re permet \u00e0 <strong>Condor 6<\/strong> de proposer une capacit\u00e9 deux fois plus importante que celle de <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/27\/condor-3-1970-1979-condor-ltd\/\" title=\"Condor 3 (1970-1979) | Condor Ltd\">Condor 3<\/a><\/strong>, qu&rsquo;il remplace dans la flotte.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Condor 6<\/strong> op\u00e8re sa premi\u00e8re travers\u00e9e entre Saint-Malo et les \u00eeles Anglo-normandes. Cependant, l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 1980 est \u00e9maill\u00e9 de probl\u00e8mes techniques et la tenue en mer de <strong>Condor 6<\/strong> est en net retrait par rapport aux hydropt\u00e8res. En effet, volant au dessus de l&rsquo;eau \u00e0 pleine vitesse, ces derniers sont moins sensibles au mouvement des vagues, prononc\u00e9es dans cette partie de la manche. Enfin, la consommation en carburant de ses turbines de propulsion est plus importante.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En raison d&rsquo;un probl\u00e8me sur ses waterjet, le service de <strong>Condor 6<\/strong> est une nouvelle fois interrompu le 16 septembre lorsque le navire se rend \u00e0 Saint-Samson pour r\u00e9paration. Cependant, d&rsquo;autres probl\u00e8mes sont identifi\u00e9s et <strong>Condor Ltd<\/strong> anticipe le terme de l&rsquo;affr\u00e8tement. <strong>Condor 6<\/strong> reprend la mer pour la Norv\u00e8ge le 23 septembre, o\u00f9 il reste d\u00e9sarm\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>D\u00e9but 1981, le catamaran est renomm\u00e9 <strong>Gimble Belle<\/strong>, mais il faut attendre 1983 pour que ses turbines \u00e0 gaz soient remplac\u00e9s par des plus conventionnels moteurs MTU. Le catamaran est acquis par l&rsquo;armement <strong>Gibline<\/strong> le 1er janvier 1985 qui le renomme <strong>Gibline 1<\/strong>. Il est alors affect\u00e9 \u00e0 un service reliant Tanger (Maroc) et Gibraltar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En octobre 1991, le catamaran est revendu \u00e0 la compagnie tha\u00eflandaise <em>Fast Ferries<\/em> qui le renomme <strong>Jet Cruise 1<\/strong>. Il est alors op\u00e9r\u00e9 sur la ligne Phuket &#8211; \u00celes Phi Phi (Tha\u00eflande). Le catamaran est revendu en 2006.
