En 2006, il est acquis par <strong>Balearia<\/strong> qui l&rsquo;op\u00e8re sur le d\u00e9troit de Gibraltar sous le nom de <strong>Jaume II<\/strong>. Il est engag\u00e9 sur la ligne Ostende (Belgique) &#8211; Ramsgate (Angleterre) \u00e0 compter du 1er mars. L&rsquo;hiver, il est \u00e9galement op\u00e9r\u00e9 entre Calais et Douvres. Cette affectation perdure jusqu&rsquo;au printemps 2001, lorsque <strong>Rapide<\/strong> est transf\u00e9r\u00e9 vers la mer d&rsquo;Irlande. Il est engag\u00e9 sur la ligne Douvres &#8211; Calais aux c\u00f4t\u00e9s de son sister-ship <strong>Diamant<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ce service dure jusqu&rsquo;au 4 novembre 2005, lorsque <strong>Hoverspeed<\/strong> annonce la cessation de ses activit\u00e9s transmanche, faute de rentabilit\u00e9. Les jours suivant, <strong>Rapide<\/strong> est d\u00e9sarm\u00e9 \u00e0 Tyne (Angleterre) avant d&rsquo;\u00eatre transf\u00e9r\u00e9 \u00e0 Tilbury (Angleterre) en mai 2005. En juin 2006, <strong>Balearia<\/strong> acquiert le catamaran et le renomme <strong>Jaume II<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Le transfert du catamaran vers la M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00c0 compter de juillet 2006, <strong>Jaume II<\/strong> est op\u00e9r\u00e9 sur la ligne Barcelone (Espagne) &#8211; Port Mahon (\u00celes Bal\u00e9ares). \u00c0 partir de d\u00e9cembre 2007, il op\u00e8re la ligne Alg\u00e9siras (Espagne) &#8211; Tanger (Maroc). <strong>Jaume II<\/strong> navigue entre ces deux ports jusqu&rsquo;en mai 2016, lorsqu&rsquo;il est transf\u00e9r\u00e9 sur la ligne Alg\u00e9siras &#8211; Ceuta.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durant l&rsquo;hiver 2016-2017, <strong>Balearia<\/strong> fait moderniser <strong>Jaume II<\/strong>, pour un investissement de 5,5 millions d&rsquo;euros. Ses quatre moteurs sont renouvel\u00e9s pour am\u00e9liorer les performances du catamaran.
