Il est le sister-ship du <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/m-v-islander-2023-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Islander (2023) | Brittany Ferries\">Islander<\/a><\/strong> de <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong>. Il r\u00e9alise sa premi\u00e8re travers\u00e9e vers l&rsquo;\u00eele de Bornholm le 30 avril 2005. En 2010, alors que son sister-ship est vendu en Nouvelle-Z\u00e9lande, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> est refondu pour accro\u00eetre sa capacit\u00e9 de fret et de v\u00e9hicules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le car-ferry est vendu \u00e0 <strong>Stena Line<\/strong> en novembre 2017, avec une livraison effective \u00e0 l&rsquo;automne 2018 lors de laquelle il est renomm\u00e9 <strong>Stena Vinga<\/strong>. Elle commande deux navires identiques aux chantiers hollandais <em>Royal Bodewes Scheepswerf<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ces ferries sont bas\u00e9s sur un concept des chantiers <em>Van der Giessen de Noord<\/em> qui avaient fait faillite quelques temps plus t\u00f4t. Le second navire de la s\u00e9rie, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong>, est lanc\u00e9 le 07 janvier 2005. <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> d\u00e9bute ses essais en mer le 11 avril et est livr\u00e9 le 20 avril \u00e0 son armateur. Apr\u00e8s des portes ouvertes organis\u00e9es \u00e0 R\u00f8nne, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> et <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/m-v-islander-2023-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Islander (2023) | Brittany Ferries\">Dueodde<\/a><\/strong> d\u00e9butent leur d\u00e9cide de remplacer l&rsquo;un de ses deux car-ferries conventionnels par un second catamaran \u00e0 grande vitesse. Ce plan s&rsquo;accompagne de la cr\u00e9ation d&rsquo;un pont-garage suppl\u00e9mentaire sur <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> pour pr\u00e9server la capacit\u00e9 d&#8217;emport de fret apr\u00e8s la mise en service de ce deuxi\u00e8me catamaran, \u00e0 l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 2011. <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> est donc envoy\u00e9 aux chantiers <strong>STX Europe<\/strong> le 21 janvier 2010.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Une d\u00e9cennie en solitaire pour le car-ferry Hammerodde<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> reprend son service au d\u00e9part de R\u00f8nne le 26 mars 2010, pour une derni\u00e8re saison en tandem avec son <a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/04\/m-v-islander-2023-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Islander (2023) | Brittany Ferries\">sister-ship<\/a>. Ce dernier quitte R\u00f8nne pour la derni\u00e8re fois en octobre 2010, revendu \u00e0 un armateur n\u00e9o-z\u00e9landais. Ramen\u00e9 \u00e0 quai, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> rompra une nouvelle fois ses amarres quelques heures apr\u00e8s, cette fois sans dommage. Ses deux \u00e9v\u00e9nements se d\u00e9roulent dans des conditions m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques difficiles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 26 mars 2015, alors qu&rsquo;il venait d&rsquo;appareiller de K\u00f8ge, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> quitte sa route et talonne le fond. Ramen\u00e9 \u00e0 K\u00f8ge, il est imm\u00e9diatement mis hors service et emmen\u00e9 \u00e0 Landskrona pour \u00eatre r\u00e9par\u00e9. Hammerodde ne reprend son service que le 26 mai 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">L&rsquo;acquisition de Hammerodde par Stena RoRo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Malgr\u00e9 son agrandissement de 2010, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> peine \u00e0 accueillir \u00e0 lui seul tout le trafic vers l&rsquo;\u00cele de Bornholm. En cons\u00e9quence, <strong>Hammerodde<\/strong> est vendu \u00e0 <strong>Stena RoRo<\/strong> le 2 novembre 2017, mais reste affr\u00e9t\u00e9 par <strong>Danske F\u00e6rger<\/strong> jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 la mise en service du nouveau <strong>Hammershus<\/strong>, le 1er septembre 2018.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Stena RoRo<\/strong> prend possession de son nouveau navire le 04 septembre 2018 et le fait imm\u00e9diatement repeindre \u00e0 ses couleurs. Renomm\u00e9 <strong>Stena Vinga<\/strong>, il op\u00e8re sa premi\u00e8re travers\u00e9e pour <strong>Stena Line<\/strong> le 16 septembre 2018, sur la ligne G\u00f6teborg (Su\u00e8de) &#8211; Frederikshavn (Danemark). Au gr\u00e9 des car\u00e9nages des autres navires de la flotte, il sera \u00e9galement op\u00e9r\u00e9 sur les lignes Travem\u00fcnde (Allemagne) &#8211; Liep\u0101ja (Lettonie), G\u00f6teborg &#8211; Kiel (Allemagne), Gdynia (Pologne) &#8211; Karlskrona (Su\u00e8de).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durant l&rsquo;\u00e9t\u00e9 2020, <strong>Stena Vinga<\/strong> est d\u00e9sarm\u00e9 alors qu&rsquo;il avait maintenu le service de la ligne Frederikshavn &#8211; G\u00f6teborg, durant le confinement. Il reprend son service le 1er septembre. Le 25 septembre, <strong>Stena Vinga<\/strong> appareille de Frederikshavn pour Rosslare, en vue de couvrir la ligne Rosslare &#8211; Cherbourg, pendant que le titulaire de la ligne &#8211; <strong>Stena Horizon<\/strong> &#8211; est d\u00e9ploy\u00e9 entre Dublin et Holyhead (Pays de Galles). <strong>Stena Vinga<\/strong> reprend la route de la Su\u00e8de en janvier 2021.
