Lanc\u00e9 sous le nom <strong>Connacht<\/strong>, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 con\u00e7u pour pour la ligne Cork &#8211; Swansea, mais est mut\u00e9 entre plusieurs lignes au cours de sa carri\u00e8re. En 1988, le navire est achet\u00e9 par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong> pour remplacer <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/19\/m-v-prince-of-brittany-1978-1992-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Prince of Brittany (1978-1992) | Brittany Ferries\">Prince of Brittany<\/a><\/strong> sur la ligne Saint-Malo &#8211; Portsmouth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>R\u00e9nov\u00e9 aux chantiers <em>Meyer Werft<\/em> de Papenburg avant sa mise en service, <strong>Duchesse Anne<\/strong> op\u00e8re la ligne jusqu&rsquo;au printemps 1993, lorsque <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/05\/27\/m-v-bretagne\/\" title=\"M\/V Bretagne (1989 \u2013 2024) \u2013 Brittany Ferries\">Bretagne<\/a><\/strong> est remplac\u00e9 par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/m-v-val-de-loire-1993-2006-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Val de Loire (1993-2006) | Brittany Ferries\">Val de Loire<\/a><\/strong> sur les lignes de l&rsquo;Atlantique. <strong>Duchesse Anne<\/strong> inaugure alors une ligne entre Saint-Malo et Cork. Cependant, <strong>Brittany Ferries<\/strong> traverse une p\u00e9riode difficile sur le plan \u00e9conomique et est contrainte de vendre <strong>Duchesse Anne<\/strong> \u00e0 la fin de l&rsquo;ann\u00e9e 1996.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Achet\u00e9 par l&rsquo;armement <strong>Jadrolinja<\/strong>, le navire est renomm\u00e9 <strong>Dubrovnik<\/strong>. Il est op\u00e9r\u00e9 jusqu&rsquo;en 2023 sur des lignes traversant la mer Adriatique. La quille du premier est pos\u00e9e le 08 ao\u00fbt 1977 et le navire est lanc\u00e9 le 20 juin 1978. D\u00e9nomm\u00e9 <strong>Connacht<\/strong>, le ferry est livr\u00e9 \u00e0 <strong>B&amp;I Line<\/strong> le 12 janvier 1979.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 7 f\u00e9vrier 1979, <strong>Connacht<\/strong> est mis en service sur la ligne Cork &#8211; Swansea. Cependant, la ligne est peu rentable et <strong>B&amp;I Line<\/strong> la ferme d\u00e8s mai 1979. <strong>Connacht<\/strong> est alors r\u00e9affect\u00e9 \u00e0 la ligne Cork &#8211; Pembroke Dock. En septembre 1980, <strong>Connacht<\/strong> est transf\u00e9r\u00e9 sur la ligne Dublin &#8211; Liverpool. En janvier 1988, <strong>Connacht<\/strong> retrouve la ligne Cork &#8211; Pembroke Dock pour une derni\u00e8re saison. En effet, en juin, <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong> annonce l&rsquo;acquisition du navire pour une livraison \u00e0 l&rsquo;automne 1988.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Duchesse Anne, un nouveau navire amiral pour Saint-Malo<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Le 3 octobre 1988, la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 du navire est transf\u00e9r\u00e9e \u00e0 la <strong>Soci\u00e9t\u00e9 Anonyme Bretonne d&rsquo;\u00c9conomie Mixte d&rsquo;\u00c9quipement Naval<\/strong> (<strong>SABEMEN<\/strong>), une soci\u00e9t\u00e9 mixte cofond\u00e9e par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/06\/29\/brittany-ferries-lhistoire-depuis-1973\/\" title=\"Brittany Ferries | L\u2019histoire depuis 1973\">Brittany Ferries<\/a><\/strong>. Le navire est envoy\u00e9 aux chantiers Meyer Werft de Papenburg pour \u00eatre r\u00e9nov\u00e9 sur un standard similaire \u00e0 celui introduit par <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.breizh-ferries.com\/index.php\/2025\/07\/20\/m-v-duc-de-normandie-1986-2004-brittany-ferries\/\" title=\"M\/V Duc de Normandie (1986 \u2013 2004) \u2013 Brittany Ferries\">Duc de Normandie<\/a><\/strong> deux ans plus t\u00f4t. Le navire est d\u00e9sarm\u00e9 \u00e0 Perama en Gr\u00e8ce. Fin-mars, il rejoint la Pir\u00e9e puis Aliaga o\u00f9 il est acquis par un armateur de Guin\u00e9e-Bissau.
